We are both slightly Facebook addicted at the moment... I'm sure it will wear off. It's quite a blast finding so many people that you haven't seen for years and getting in touch with them again.. I've found friends from school, Uni, the LANning days, the #aus-tassie/#alcho party days, various workplaces, and just random friends from all over!
If you are looking for Emma or myself, we are both on there under our full names. If there are too many others with the same name, try looking for a mutual friend with a less common name than us, and check their friends list. See how you go ...
The latest baby update - We have 5 weeks to go and Emma has just started maternity leave. I won't put a picture here as we have plenty on Facebook already :)

Backyard Blitz
Not our backyard - but Ben and Laura's. They are pulling down the remains of the deck at the back of their house... it took a bit of assistance though ...

Congrats Nick and Mel!
Congratulations to our good friends Nick and Mel, who got married on 3 February!
If you don't know them, Nick is quite a good singer..
They are currently somewhere in New Zealand, no doubt Nick will have some photographic masterpieces to show for it on his return!

Triple J Hottest 100!
..also known as Australia Day to many people!
Our BBQ has become an annual event, having held it for the last four years now.
As anyone who is a regular visitor to our place would know, it looks different every year. Last year it was the new BBQ area (among others) - this year, the new back deck, which was completed just before Christmas.
It is always a busy day for us, but well worth it in the end. It wouldn't happen without assistance from many friends - Ben and Mingo have done some audio cabling for us. Matt and Mel provided the amp and party speakers. Paul took the role of BBQ chef for some time as well. Thanks everyone, it really helps the day go a lot easier!
The tipping contest is also a regular event - won by either Ben or Laura each of the past three years, this year saw a new winner - a newcomer to our BBQ - Paul's fiancee Carly! Her winning picks were:
2. eskimo joe – black fingernails red wine
3. hilltop hoods – the hard road
5. scissor sisters – i don't feel like dancing
6. gnarls barkley – crazy
10. the grates – 19-20-20

Being a nerd, I had a spreadsheet going on a big screen on the day so everyone could see how they were faring.

Busy Weekend

Well, we have a really busy weekend coming up. Last night we went out for a "New Years" counter meal with some of Chuq's workmates, and then went out to see Adam Hills do some standup as part of the comedy festival. We had no idea what to really expect as it was at the venue in Salamanca (no reserved seating, just general admission), and the tickets were $29 each (fairly reasonable really). We got there nice and early, about 9.40 (show started at 10) and the queue was half way down Wooby's lane!! Anyway, we got in there eventually and cooked for the whole 2 hours (well, nearly - it did start 20 minutes late due to people getting drinks) as it was soo bloody hot in there but laughed our asses off for that time too.
So, today we head up to Launceston for an engagement party, then back this evening for a birthday bbq. Tomorrow we go to the cricket to watch Australia whoop New Zealand (well, it would be a better game if they didn't). So, it's just as well I have Monday and Tuesday off, I think I will need those days to recover from the weekend ;-)
Anyway, better go, 2 hour drive ahead of us and we're supposed to be leaving in half an hour (ha ha ha!)
Have a good weekend!
(Update from Chuq - I did one of my trademark stadium panoramic photos, which I have added here!)

Hi everyone,
Yes, I will be posting on here as well. Sorry about that.
Hmm, Hottest 100 day (Australia day) coming up... if you live in Hobart and know us, keep Jan 26th free!
That's about it for now..
Oh, and yesterday I had a haircut.
